Getting back to Blog

Posted by: Chip Lambert | Comments (0)

Blogging has been challenging with all of the twists and turns that we’ve been taking lately.

I recently finished my phase I LinkedIn eBook "Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile for Maximum Performance" and have six more in the offing – I’m balancing my time between writing, consulting, and speaking.

The book was a response to the incredible number of one-on-one LinkedIn private consults I’ve booked in the last 90 days.  I found it was an easy way to prepare people for the basics – Phase I – so we could really focus on strategically using the platform to generate business NOW.

Phase I is all about setup and build out.  If it’s not done right – which the eBook covers – you can’t really effectively leverage the system.

Also, over the last quarter, I’ve been booking and delivering some fantastic tele-seminars – both free and paid.  I’m working on a page that has the upcoming schedule of tele-seminars and live presentations I’m making so you can hear for yourself why LinkedIn is so important (IMHO) and how small and medium sized business people are using it to make more money and expand their influence through their already existing business network connections.  I’ve written extensively about it here on the blog – and now I’m out speaking – live and virtually – to get the message out.

We’ve also upgraded the website to a WordPress Platform and added a "Members" section.  I’m working on the member site plan every day and have a current offer for a $1 lifetime membership until we really begin to ramp the site up.  I’m posting tips, tricks, resources, etc. for members and soon will be writing special blog pieces that only members will get.  If you read the blog – please consider joining us.  You will get some amazing discounts on the educational things we have planned to offer – that will make an impact on your bottom line – Period.

And finally – I’m getting back to blogging – both here and on Twitter.  Here I get to share what I see unfolding and on Twitter I get to actually have my finger on the pulse of, and participate in the conversations that my markets are having.  For those of you who have done any training with me, or who have been reading and implementing the things I talk about on this blog, you will understand the importance of participating and leading the conversation that your market is having.  It’s truly remarkable and has lead to some fantastic friend, opportunities, and an authentic influence in a way I never though possible.

Stay tuned for more.  We’ve only just begun!

It seems that as the economy continues to tighten that people are waking up to the fact that they need to ratchet up what they are doing something proactively to reach their personal and business goals.

I’ve been receiving lots of emails and requests from people and groups to do presentations on using LinkedIn to achieve personal and business related goals.

So I’m setting up a special section on my website called Social Media Savvy where I’ll be posting where I’m speaking both live and via teleseminar or webinar.  I’ll also be posting links to other training and events which help our readers sharpen their social media skills to really make the most of the tools and opportunities that are just waiting for you to master.

I’ve also just released our first of a series of LinkedIn eBooks.  Check ‘em out!

If you have events that you’d like me to promote to our readers, please reach out to me via our Contact Page.

If you’d like us to speak to your group of 30 or more – live, via teleseminar or webinar – reach out to us.

And, as always, if there’s any way I can be of service, I’m here.

We just released our LinkedIn 301 Webinar – Business Development on LinkedIn – Using LinkedIn to Make More Money.

If you haven’t done one of the webinars, I suggest you start with the 101 and work your way up – we don’t cover any info in 201 that’s covered in 101 and the same applies for the 301.  If you don’t have the fundamentals down, the 301 won’t make sense.

In a nutshell, we apply some of the foundation pieces that I train in the Business Development Intensive to the LinkedIn system and that seems to unlock the true value of the tool.

I’ve got clients that are applying what they learned and beginning to see some impressive results.  If you want to hear more, give me a call 602-635-4541.

I’d include the text here, but I’d rather have you click the link if you are interested.

I trust that you will have a profitable day

Recession and Relationship

Posted by: Chip Lambert | Comments (0)

I was on the way home from a client meeting this morning, listening to talk radio and the announcer, Daryl Ankarlo, talk about the possibility that with gas at nearly $4 a gallon, the weak dollar, 500% increase in foreclosures, we are on the precipice of a recession.

It struck me that the people who really suffer in recessions are people who have not taken the time to build their networks.

I wrote about this in an earlier post.  Taking care of the relationships we have, while sometimes daunting, is critical.

This is especially true when things get scary or shaky.  If we have not taken the time to build and nurture our networks, we go it alone.

Who’s there to help you when you fall down?  Who’s there to help you build your business? Who’s there to turn you onto new resources?  Who’s there to help you find a new job? New clients? New sources?

If you haven’t really begun the work in earnest – don’t fret.

People are intrinsically generous.  Especially the ones we’ve made a difference with.  If you reach out now and begin to let the people in your life know what you need, know what you are working on, and offer to be a resource for them as well, they’ll rise to the occasion.

AND THEY’LL BE THERE WHEN YOU NEED THEM MOST!

If you haven’t taken the opportunity to do our LinkedIn Webinars, please consider doing that now.  Build it before you need it.

It is difficult to stress the importance of technology for the management of our relationships. We run try to manage with PDAs, laptops, web apps, big and databases. But they all seem to fall short of actually tieing together our CONTACTS in a way the shows our RELATIONSHIPS.

Enter LinkedIn.

Now – I know what you are going to say – There are TONS of social network websites out there in Internet-land and hundreds of tools.

But I think LinkedIn stands apart for a few reasons – especially in terms of Business Development and actively generating referrals:

  1. LinkedIn is primarily a network of “Trusted Contacts” Which means that you only invite the people you trust to your network – giving you access to the relationship you’ve built up.
  2. As a permission based network, LinkedIn gives you a place to market yourself and your expertise without being to “Salesy” – a big deal for many people.
  3. As your network begins to grow – you can actually SEE who your connections know. Granted, your connections must have this feature turned on. Think about this – if you are looking, for example, to talk with partners in law firms, you can browse through your connections connections and see who they know. You can also do a search through your network and see who has second or third level connections. I tend to focus on second level connections – because I can pick up the phone and ask my friends to introduce me. I’ve set many high-level appointments this way. And people who are trained have requested the same of me.
  4. You meet extremely high quality people you otherwise would have never met. In a world that is rapidly going global, this can make the difference as you position yourself to capture the right kind of business for your enterprise.

To that end, I hooked up with Integrated Alliances out of Denver and am now offering the LinkedIn® Hands-On Webinar(TM) to help people setup and get the most out of their Linkedin Accounts. Check it out.

Combined with the Business Development Intensive training we do, this is a one-two punch for those of you who have large books of business and large networks, but have not really leveraged them fully.

For those of you who have completed our training, this Webinar is a don’t miss!
